Peter Johnson AES class of 1978 alwaysbekind@gmail.com May 5, 2008
I am Peter Johnson Class of '78. You have no idea how much I would like to attend the Reno reunion. UNFORTUNATELY, I am stationed overseas and even though I will be returning to the states this summer in late August, making this reunion will not be possible for me. Currently, I'm in the UK and have been since Aug 2005. I just got back from a long weekend in Holland and met up with Nora Noe ('79) and Pieter Ravensburg ('78). If you could share this picture of us at the reunion and count us there in spirit, that would be great. My wife, Nancy, a friend of hers and I were going to Sassenheim, Holland to see the Tulip Parade. I suggested to Pieter and Nora that we get together. We agreed to meet in Haarlem in front of the train station. Nancy and I took our car on the ferry and then drove to Haarlem. After getting lost in Haarlem we finally found a parking space near the train station. After we parked I just took off -- I was very excited. I rounded the corner of the train station and even from across the street I immediately recognized Pieter and Nora! We were all older of course, but they looked the same to me. Nora had driven up from Maastricht with her daughter Kimberley and Pieter had taken the train from Monnickendam. We had a bit of lunch at a café. Nancy and her friend took off to see more Tulips, while the rest of us hung out in Haarlem until Pieter had to catch his train. After Pieter left, Nora graciously took me to Ijmuiden (we saw a lighthouse and a nice beach), then back to Sassenheim. The 5 of us had dinner together before parting. Suffice to say, we all still like each other. Peter See Peter's previous letters from November 2007 and March 2006, and July 2005.
