A great time was had by all at our first AIS/AES Alumni Association board meeting for 2007 in Bowie, Maryland, on March 3rd. Thanks to the hosts for allowing us to have the meeting in their home and for arranging the take-out Indian dinner.
In addition, Eric Hols (Director), brought home-made samossas, which we could not wait to dive into! Other board members also brought some Indian snacks. Spouses/significant others were welcome although they had to socialize in the living room while we had our meeting in a separate room. All totaled, we had a nice-size group gathering for the dinner part.
When our meeting began, we phoned Sophie Lafaille (Director), so she was with us by speaker phone. The meeting was very productive; and we discussed several issues, such as handling bulk mail, how to improve student and class participation, and our next "all-school/all-classes invited" reunion. You could feel the energy from all the board members and some great ideas were brought up. We will provide more detailed board discussions at a later time.
Towards the end of the meeting, Mary Flanagan Williamson (Director) was nominated and voted as the new Recording Secretary, effective immediately.
Our meeting lasted a little over an hour. We followed the agenda as planned: Indian Dinner--Meeting--Party! Again, a great time was had by all!
