PRESIDENT EISENHOWER VISITS AIS, 1959
There are some home movies of my Dad's on the Colby-Sawyer channel on Youtube. The films are a hodge-podge, but I managed to locate a sequence of President Eisenhower visiting Delhi, starting at about 3:27 in this clip.
His visit to AIS is approximately between 6:07-7:17.
The president was accompanied by his daughter-in-law, Barbara Eisenhower, for whom my mom (in her capacity of President of the American Women's Club) gave a reception in the garden of our house. Barbara is the tallish woman with short dark hair, dressed in gray with one rope of pearls at the party. Later, during the AIS sequence, she has on multiple ropes of pearls.
The film is reversed, right to left, which makes for a pretty weird banner. (It think it says "The American School of New Delhi welcomes President Eisenhower.") - Betsy Woodman, Class of 1963
