NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS TREASURER
posted 29 September 2019
BIG Exciting NEWS!
Please help us welcome Claire Saint-Rossy (Class of 1975) as
our new Board Treasurer. Claire attended AIS from January
1965 through June 1968, along with two older sisters and a younger brother, during the period when their father worked
with the United Nations - UNESCO took their family to New Delhi.
"I am amazed when recalling the rich exposure to Indian religious and cultural sites that I got through the myriad field trips planned for us by AIS's elementary school teachers - what great teachers they were."
Claire moved to metro DC before the 2015 reunion, which made it possible for
her to reconnect with a handful of old friends who attended. Now she is able to
visit with close friends with some regularity. We are lucky to have her on our
board and feel confident that our fiduciary responsibility to the association will be fulfilled. Welcome aboard, Claire!

Suzanne Bakey Fricke (AIS Class of 1972), Corresponding Secretary of the AIS/AES Alumni Association since 2003, announced her retirement effective August 14, 2019. She served as the 1972 Class Secretary before joining the Board of Directors and was responsible for locating many '70's and alumni from other classes over the years. Her cheerful enthusiasm and event planning skills helped us to successfully host three of the largest all-classes reunions in our association's history.
Suzanne is married to Robert (Bob) Fricke, (AIS Class of 1969); and they have two daughters, Samantha and Rachel, who both volunteered in the past as reunion-helpers, and two grandchildren, Kara and Mike. We didn't let Winter Storm Jaden keep us from honoring AES Director, Jim Laney! It was a wonderful evening of friendship, camaraderie, sharing stories, and delicious Indian food.
Jim shared photos of AES on the TV screen while we were eating and gifted everyone with an AES magnet and an India/AES Friendship Flag pin. Thank you, Jim! And thanks to all who braved the 25-deg (F) temperatures and wind gusts up to 45 mph to make this an alumni gathering to remember.
