UPCOMING AES ALUMNI GATHERING IN NEW YORK
posted 5 February 2018

I am the new School Director. These past few months I have been learning about the school, its culture and also about Delhi and India. Two defining characteristics of the AES community that I've learned in my brief time here are, first, it is a very welcoming community. Truly, it can be daunting to move to a new country and culture; but the AES community welcomes and supports newcomers like few other international schools in the world.

Read more from Mr. Laney and about the upcoming New York alumni gathering.

2017 CROSS COUNTRY TRIP
posted 23 January 2018

Reed Finfrock (Class of 1965) shares with us some adventures
of his cross country trip last summer, July 2017.

I am home! And, glad to be here. You never realize what a castle your home is until you spend seven weeks sleeping in some very sketchy motels or even worse campgrounds. I'm glad I did the trip, but I will most likely never do another. I rode 4,120 miles, some of it being completely lost.

Of my various reviews and awards, Iím most proud of this one I got yesterday for my book Spies in the Family: BEST INTELLIGENCE BOOK Of 2017 by the Association of Former

gence association in the U.S.
Certificate attached says: "Dillon's account is both a gripping spy story and a highly personal memoir, and is one of the best portrayals of the human elements involved in the business." - from Eva Dillon (Class of 1975)

FACES AT AES
posted 9 December 2017

Shrivatsa Somany (Class of 2007) visited campus on 16 November 2017 and met with Ms. Jain. She was his Robotics, Computer Studies and Computer Science teacher in high school.
ďMs. Jainís classes unlocked for me the realization that I was interested in robotics and computer science. Iíve always loved building things - to this day I build with Legos. From my first project in Ms. Jainís class, I developed a love for building with software.Ē
Today, Shrivatsa runs his own business in New Delhi, Hello World Labs, which works in home, office and building automation. Their software uses Artificial Intelligence to save energy by tracking movement. Shrivatsa also substituted for Ms. Jainís classes for one month earlier this year! We are so grateful to have an alumni community that truly emulates the "lifelong learners" and "responsible, compassionate global citizens" that we know our students to be - and to our teachers for inspiring them! - Article Contributed by AES

MINI-GATHERING IN NORTH CAROLINA
posted 19 November 2017

I was able to spend a couple of hours recently with Lisa Jordan, (center) a fellow AES alumni from the Class of 1987, while she was in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for a sorority reunion. I didn't tell her my sister and her classmate, Carolyn Malpass Gallagher (right) would be joining us as well. I'd say Lisa was pleasantly surprised. Thank you to Hanson (Dad) for letting us use your living room.

- from Mary Susan Malpass Jackson (Class of 1986)
